This testing method is one of the most widespread technical diagnostics methods.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hardness testing is aimed at inspection of the metal usability for planned loads in certain exploitation conditions. Hardness means a metal\u2019s ability to resist to mechanical penetration of other solid bodies in the surface. In other words, it is a metal strength to local plastic deformations caused by the impact of a harder object. The strength characteristics of the metal structures are directly depended on this factor.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">What is an indenter?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Indenter is a steel ball, blower, cutting point and pyramid made from diamond. It is pressed into the surface of the testing material with a certain force. The hardness is evaluated according to the final dint character. This dint has an appropriate index number of the Vickers scale (HV), Rockwell (HRC) or Brinell (HB).<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">What methods of hardness measurement exist?<\/h2>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Indenter impression (to evaluate the resistance to plastic deformations).<\/li>\n<li>Shock indenter impact or reverse rebound registration (to determine the elasticity).<\/li>\n<li>Scratching (to evaluate the damage resistance).<\/li>\n<li>Continuous impression (displacement diagram and simultaneous exerting efforts recording).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The indenter load can be dynamic (impact force) or static (continuous pressing).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>LLP \u00abARDCON\u00bb offers services of welding and metal testing laboratory.
